Va de Bous awards honor bullfighting figures in Spain

The Generalitat Valenciana has announced the winners of the eighth edition of the ‘Va de Bous’ bullfighting awards. The ceremony recognizes contributions to both traditional street bullfighting (bous al carrer) and bullfighting spectacles held in arenas.

In the arena category, honors were awarded to picador Francisco Ponz Agenjo, known as ‘Puchano’, and bullfighter José Pacheco Rodríguez, ‘El Califa’. In the traditional festivities category, awards were presented to breeder Germán Vidal and the Aída Jovani ranch. Other recipients include the municipality of Onda and the Burriana Bull Commission.

Juan Carlos Valderrama, the Minister of Emergencies and Interior, noted that the awardees contribute to the economic and cultural revitalization of the Valencian territory through their dedication to bullfighting traditions.
