V&A Waterfront Busker Festival to host inaugural event
The inaugural V&A Waterfront Busker Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1. The event features more than 50 performers showcasing various talents, including music, dance, comedy, circus acrobatics, and puppetry.
Among the participants is the Isibande Se Afrika Choir from Khayelitsha. The 70-member choir will be split to perform across the two days, presenting new music and outfits. Other featured international acts include performers from Italy, Spain, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Competitors are vying for the V&A Waterfront's Best Busker Award, which includes a R10,000 prize, a one-year busking contract with the Waterfront, and performance opportunities at international festivals in Barcelona and Italy.
