Medical experts are highlighting the critical importance of vaccination and early intervention to combat infectious diseases and sepsis.

Dr. Düriye Sıla Karagöz Özen warns that vaccine hesitancy is causing a resurgence of previously eradicated childhood diseases. She emphasizes that adult vaccination is equally vital, particularly for those over 50, recommending shingles, influenza, pneumococcal, and RSV vaccines for high-risk groups, including the elderly and those with chronic conditions.

In observance of World Sepsis Day, Dr. Abdulvahap Aslan describes sepsis as a life-threatening medical emergency caused by an extreme immune response to infection. He notes that sepsis can lead to severe organ damage or death if not treated promptly. High-risk populations include children under one, adults over 65, and individuals with diabetes or hypertension. Early recognition of symptoms such as high fever, fatigue, and changes in consciousness is essential for survival.
