Vadul lui Vodă street closure extended in Chișinău

Traffic restrictions on Vadul lui Vodă Street in Chișinău's Ciocana sector are expected to remain in place until 21:00 on October 21. Although Termoelectrica has completed repairs on the DN 800 main thermal pipeline near building 7/1, heavy rainfall forecasted for October 19 and 20 prevents safe asphalt application.

A dispute has emerged between the municipality and the utility provider. Chișinău City Hall criticized the extension of the closure, alleging that Termoelectrica performed excavations without proper authorization and made measurement errors that required cutting into recently repaired asphalt. The municipality warned that the closure would paralyze traffic connecting the Ciocana, Râșcani, and Centru sectors, as well as several suburbs.

Termoelectrica stated that the network is sealed and the road is ready for paving, but they requested the extension to ensure the quality of the road surface. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
