Vagos Metal Fest draws 8,000 daily visitors, boosting local economy in Portugal
The Vagos Metal Fest took place from 5 to 9 August at the Quinta do Ega in Vagos, Portugal, featuring headliners such as Lamb of God, Godsmack, Within Temptation and In Flames. Organisers estimated around eight thousand attendees each day, creating a direct impact on the municipality’s accommodation, restaurant and retail sectors.
Promoter Gonçalo Neves highlighted the festival’s growth and its role in raising the town’s profile beyond national borders. Local officials, including Councilor Graça Gadelho and parish president João Mário Grave, described the event as an iconic cultural showcase that attracts foreign visitors and promotes Vagos as a key destination on Portugal’s festival calendar.
