Vaibhav Sooryavanshi praised as future white‑ball star by former India cricketers

Former India batsmen Robin Uthappa and Ajinkya Rahane have both commented on teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Uthappa said the 15‑year‑old could have a bigger impact on white‑ball cricket than Sachin Tendulkar, but warned that staying disciplined and avoiding distractions will be crucial. He highlighted Sooryavanshi’s record‑breaking IPL season, where the youngster hit 72 sixes – surpassing Chris Gayle’s previous mark – and finished as the highest run‑scorer.

Rahane, speaking on a cricket podcast, urged caution about fast‑tracking Sooryavanshi into Test cricket. He stressed the need for strong family guidance, noting the stark difference between IPL pressure and the demands of international red‑ball matches. Rahane advised that the teenager should grow at his own pace and remain disciplined to fulfil his potential.
