Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Set to Debut for India in T20I Series Against Ireland

Indian batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, fresh off an Orange Cap‑winning IPL 2026 season, has been called up to the senior national side. Before joining the main squad, he will appear for India 'A' in a limited‑overs tri‑series in Dambulla, Sri Lanka from 9 June to 21 June.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has earmarked 26 June 2026 for Sooryavanshi’s senior debut in the first T20I against Ireland at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast, with a second opportunity on 28 June. If not selected for the Ireland matches, a further debut window opens during a five‑match T20I series against England in early July. A successful debut would make him the youngest male player ever to appear in international cricket, breaking a 36‑year record previously held by Sachin Tendulkar. Sooryavanshi has expressed his ambition to play all three formats for India, building on his explosive performances in the IPL.
