Vaibhav Sooryavanshi takes two wickets in one over during Duleep Trophy

Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the vice-captain of East Zone, demonstrated his versatility during a Duleep Trophy quarterfinal against North East Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. While Sooryavanshi struggled with the bat, scoring only eight runs in the first innings, he made a significant impact with his left-arm orthodox spin during the second innings.

In the 28th over of the North East Zone's second innings, Sooryavanshi claimed two wickets in just four deliveries. He first dismissed Kishan Lyngdoh, who was caught by a substitute fielder, and subsequently removed Imliwati Lemtur, who edged a delivery to wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan. Sooryavanshi finished his spell with figures of 2 wickets for 11 runs in three overs.

The match has been dominated by East Zone, who posted a substantial 467 runs in their first innings and forced a follow-on after dismissing North East Zone for 111. The teenage sensation's performance with the ball has drawn attention to his potential as an all-round player in red-ball cricket.
