Vaibhav Suryavanshi involved in Duleep Trophy confrontation

During the Duleep Trophy final, 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was involved in a heated confrontation with South Zone captain Tilak Varma. The tension arose during East Zone's innings as Suryavanshi and Abhimanyu Easwaran built a century partnership. Following aggressive batting from the teenager, Tilak Varma reportedly engaged in sledging, leading to a verbal argument that required umpire intervention to separate the players.

Despite the on-field friction, Suryavanshi has demonstrated significant tactical awareness in his role as vice-captain. He has maintained a 100% success rate with Decision Review System (DRS) requests during the tournament. In the final, Suryavanshi advised captain Ishan Kishan to review an unsuccessful appeal against Ricky Bhui, which resulted in the umpire overturning the decision to declare the batsman out. He previously showed similar leadership and tactical skill while standing in as captain during the semifinal match.
