Vail Resorts announces 2026/27 winter opening dates

Vail Resorts has announced target opening dates for its 2026/27 winter season across several North American locations. In the Lake Tahoe region, Heavenly and Northstar are scheduled to open on November 20, while Kirkwood is slated for December 4.

Other scheduled openings within the Vail Resorts portfolio include Keystone Resort in October, Breckenridge on November 6, Vail Mountain on November 13, and Beaver Creek and Crested Butte on November 25.

All opening dates remain condition-dependent and subject to change based on weather and ambient temperatures. While the company has invested over $100 million in high-efficiency snowmaking technology, operators noted that consistent freezing temperatures are still required to effectively utilize these systems.
