Vajdasági Magyar Szövetség highlights success of youth housing loan program

Ákos Újhelyi, a parliamentary representative for the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (VMSZ), has highlighted the success of the subsidized loan program designed to help young people purchase their first property. He noted that the program is a critical tool for addressing economic, social, and demographic challenges.

According to the representative, approximately 11,400 applications for favorable loans were received by June, with over 7,000 contracts already approved. During the summer months alone, 1,300 property purchase contracts were signed, with an average value of approximately 80,000 euros. The program has been expanded to allow other family members, beyond just parents, to act as guarantors, and it also covers construction on private land and the purchase of prefabricated houses.
