Val Bormida municipalities launch digital tourism platform
Thirty-three municipalities across the provinces of Cuneo, Asti, and Alessandria have launched a shared digital tourism platform to promote the Val Bormida region. The initiative, presented at the Castello di Monastero Bormida by the Unione Montana Alta Langa, aims to unify a territory previously divided by administrative boundaries through its shared history, landscape, and the Bormida river.
The project follows a strategic analysis of the area, which faces challenges such as population aging and depopulation. However, the region has seen significant growth in tourism, with arrivals increasing by 54% and stays by 46% between 2019 and 2023. The new strategy targets tourists, remote workers, and individuals seeking authentic living experiences by highlighting local culture, nature, and villages.
