Val Chmerkovskiy returns to Dancing With the Stars rehearsals

Val Chmerkovskiy has returned to rehearsals for Dancing With the Stars following a one-week suspension. The suspension was triggered by a controversial social media comment referencing the Will Smith and Chris Rock Oscars incident in response to judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s critique of his wife, Jenna Johnson.

Chmerkovskiy issued an apology, stating he made a “poor decision” and never intended to imply physical violence or threaten Inaba. He acknowledged that the judge did not deserve to be involved in the controversy.

Despite the recent disciplinary action, sources indicate Chmerkovskiy remains on the roster for the 2027 Dancing With the Stars live tour. He and Jenna Johnson are expected to remain central figures in the upcoming North American tour, provided the remainder of the season proceeds without further incident.
