Val Senales glacier reopens for 2026/27 ski training season

The Alpin Arena Senales in Val Senales, South Tyrol, is scheduled to reopen its glacier slopes on Saturday, 19 September, marking the start of the 2026/27 Alpine ski training season.

The reopening primarily serves elite athletes, regional committees, and ski clubs preparing for the upcoming competitive season, including the World Cup giant slaloms in Sölden. Training sessions are set to take place in the mornings, with the first cable car ascent scheduled for 7:15 a.m. and the Grawand chairlift and piste operating between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to take advantage of optimal snow conditions.

While the glacier provides a crucial high-altitude training base above 3,000 metres, recreational skiers are advised to check local operational updates and weather conditions before visiting, as availability may vary based on snow and temperature.
