Valahia University conducts archaeological research at Ceahlău site

Specialists from the Department of History at Valahia University of Târgoviște have resumed systematic archaeological research at the Bistricioara-Lutărie III prehistoric site in Neamț County, located at the foot of Ceahlău Mountain.

Discovered in 2007, the site contains an important archaeological sequence with multiple Upper Paleolithic habitation levels dating between 28,000 and 12,000 years ago. The project involves an interdisciplinary team of students and doctoral candidates working alongside experts from Romania, Austria, Germany, France, and Ukraine. The research is supported by the German Foundation for Scientific Research and Valahia University.
