Valašské Meziříčí to host Světlo Valmez light festival

The eighth annual Světlo Valmez festival will transform Valašské Meziříčí into an open-air gallery on Friday, September 18. The event features 30 light installations created by artists and creative teams from seven European countries.

Under the theme ‘Světlo v pohybu’ (Light in Motion), the festival will showcase works that integrate modern technology to react to sound, movement, or human heartbeats. Notable installations include Matej Bizovičar’s ‘Refufish’, which explores aquatic and extraterrestrial forms, and Mikołaj Marciniak’s works addressing human impact on nature and real-time sound-to-image conversion.

Other featured projects include David Vrbík’s ‘Vetroskop’, combining light and sound within a church setting, and Kryštof Brůha’s ‘Fluctus Cordis’, which responds to ambient noise and pulse. Admission to the festival is free.
