SS 433 Valdaso: 23 municipalities sign pact for road modernization

Twenty-three mayors from the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo are set to sign a memorandum of understanding to advocate for the modernization of the SS 433 Valdaso road. The signing ceremony will take place on Friday, August 21, at Lake Gerosa.

The SS 433 is a critical transport artery connecting the Sibillini mountains to the Adriatic coast, providing essential links to the A14 motorway and the railway system. The coalition of municipalities aims to urge the Marche Region, specifically President Francesco Acquaroli, to implement a comprehensive investment program for the road.

Beyond routine maintenance, the group is calling for an ambitious modernization project to improve road safety and connectivity. Proponents argue that upgrading this infrastructure is vital for stimulating the local economy—including agriculture, industry, and tourism—and for combating depopulation in the Val d'Aso territory.
