Valdengo proposes hosting Italian time trial championships

Roberto Pella, the Mayor of Valdengo and former president of the Professional Cycling League, has officially proposed Valdengo and the Biellese region as hosts for the Italian time trial championships. The proposal covers several categories, including male and female allievi and juniors, men’s and women’s Under 23, and elite women.

The championships, which were originally scheduled for June, have not yet taken place. Pella noted that after the Italian Cycling Federation declined to find a suitable municipality in Piedmont, Valdengo offered its availability to organize the six scheduled races within the next two weeks. The initiative aims to support young athletes following recent international successes by Italian cyclists, such as Elisa Longo Borghini.
