Valdeorras hosts international wine educators to promote Galician wines

The Valdeorras Denomination of Origin has welcomed 15 international professionals as part of the Galicia Wine Educator 2026 program. This initiative, driven by the Galicia Wine Academy in collaboration with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and supported by AGACAL, aims to strengthen the global positioning of Galician wines by training specialists capable of influencing international markets.

The intensive six-day program covers five Galician wine regions: Rías Baixas, Ribeiro, Monterrei, Valdeorras, and Ribeira Sacra. Participants engage in technical sessions, winery visits, and tastings to deepen their understanding of indigenous varieties and local production methods. During the Valdeorras visit, educators participated in a wine tasting featuring 34 different references and visited wineries such as Rafael Palacios and A Coroa.
