Valdepeñas residents protest following allegations of mass cat killings

More than 200 people gathered in the Plaza Mayor of Valdepeñas during a demonstration organized by the animalist political party PACMA. The protest demands urgent action from authorities regarding José Luis Serrano, a local resident accused of animal cruelty after claiming in a video to have killed 40 cats.

PACMA has characterized the situation as an extreme risk, citing the combination of the accused's statements, his operation of a canine and feline residence despite ongoing complaints, and the sexist insults and threats directed at female caretakers of feline colonies via social media. The party has formally requested interventions from the Valdepeñas City Council, the Civil Guard, the Castilla-La Mancha Institute for Women, and the Ministry of Equality to evaluate precautionary measures and protect both animals and the individuals involved.
