Valdete Daka warns Kosovo of perpetual elections without political compromise

Former head of Kosovo's Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka, called on political parties to engage in dialogue and reach a compromise, saying the country cannot continue in a cycle of elections every six months. She warned that without a political agreement Kosovo risks endless caretaker governments, repeated voting expenses and institutional deadlock.

Daka emphasized that responsibility lies with the parliamentary parties to find a common language for forming institutions and ensuring political stability. She noted that some leaders of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) appear ready to forge a coalition, but the issue surrounding Vjosa Osman remains unresolved.
