Valdieri prepares for San Bernardo patronal feast in Desertetto

The hamlet of Desertetto, a fraction of Valdieri, is preparing to host the patronal feast of San Bernardo. The celebrations follow a recent fire emergency that had previously necessitated the evacuation of the area.

The festivities are scheduled to begin on Saturday, August 22, starting with a non-competitive walk for children and youths through the local hamlets. The evening will feature a street food event and a DJ set. The main events will take place on Sunday, August 23, including a procession, Mass, a traditional large polenta meal, and musical entertainment.

The event is organized by the Circolo Acli San Lorenzo e Desertetto Aps in collaboration with the Unità Pastorale Valle Gesso, the Municipality of Valdieri, and the Amici del Santuario della Madonna del Colletto association. Matteo Cavallo, a provincial Acli councilor and municipal councilor, expressed gratitude to the volunteers and collaborators for their commitment to social action and community service.
