Valdivia hosts inaugural L’Étape Chile cycling event

Approximately 2,000 cyclists participated in the first edition of L’Étape Chile by Tour de France in Valdivia. The competition featured routes of 30, 60, and 110 kilometers, traversing scenic areas including the Niebla coast and Cuesta de Curiñanco.

In the Elite 110-kilometer category, Héctor Quintana secured first place with a time of 2:52:11, while Martina Torres won the women's division with a time of 3:06:23. To prepare for the event, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) implemented road improvements, including asphalt resurfacing on the Valdivia-Niebla-Curiñanco route and repairs to the Cruces bridge.

Following the event's success, organizers announced two additional dates for 2027: March 21 in Pucón and October 31 in Niebla-Valdivia.
