Brazil expands technology training and entrepreneurship initiatives

Brazil is seeing a surge in technological training and entrepreneurship initiatives across various sectors. A major national program, a partnership between the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and the Rede Mulher Empreendedora Institute, is offering 5,000 artificial intelligence training slots for female entrepreneurs, with half reserved for Black women. The program includes mentorship and the possibility of seed capital for 50 selected businesses.

In the education sector, the Ministry of Education (MEC) has launched nine free AI courses for basic education teachers via the Avamec platform. Meanwhile, in the private sector, Nubank has opened 50 internship positions focused on data, technology, and AI for students graduating between 2028 and 2029. Vale is also expanding its technical reach, offering over 450 technical internships across five states.

Regional development remains a focus, with Vale and TCS launching the Aprendiz Tech program in Marabá to train 50 local youths in digital innovation. Additionally, Sebrae is partnering with the Ceará-Mirim municipality to build a new Entrepreneur Store to support small businesses in the Mato Grande region.
