Valença expands market access for 38 artisanal products

The municipality of Valença has increased its number of artisanal products with national certification to 38. These products have received the ARTE and Queijo Artesanal seals, allowing them to be sold throughout Brazil.

The certification process is managed by the Municipal Inspection Service of Products of Animal Origin (SIMPOA), under the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture, Fishing, and Livestock (SMAPP). The service handles sanitary regularization, inspection, and technical guidance for producers to ensure compliance with legal requirements and traditional production methods.

The certified items include 26 products with the ARTE seal and 12 with the Queijo Artesanal seal. The range of products features cheeses and dairy derivatives from cow, goat, and buffalo milk, as well as dulce de leche. Notable participating enterprises include Sítio Vale do Vento, Queijaria Latte Buono, Capril do Lago, and Queijaria Esperança.

This initiative aims to strengthen the local economy and facilitate access to new markets, including specialized stores and restaurants nationwide. The technical work of SIMPOA contributed to Valença winning the state stage of the Sebrae Prefeitura Empreendedora award in 2026.
