Valence officials propose solidarity march after Kalashnikov shooting

Following a Kalashnikov shooting in the Polygone district of Valence on August 4, members of the 'Réunir Valence' political group have proposed organizing a 'marche blanche' (white march) to show solidarity with the victims. The shooting, which occurred in the Rue du Maréchal Foch, wounded eight young people between the ages of 15 and 21.

The local councilors described the attack as an "incomprehensible and traumatizing act" for the city and the neighborhood. They noted that working-class districts have increasingly been on the front lines of violence linked to drug trafficking and called for increased resources to be allocated to these vulnerable areas.
