Valencia activates emergency protocols amid orange rain alert

The Valencia City Council has activated municipal emergency protocols in response to an orange weather alert for heavy rainfall. Effective from 14:00, the preventive measures aim to minimize person mobility to ensure safety.

Key restrictions include the closure of parks, gardens, cemeteries, and the Jardí del Túria, as well as libraries located within these areas. Various outdoor activities have been suspended, including sports events organized by the Municipal Sports Foundation and specific local community events.

In the educational sector, activities in schools located in flood-prone areas and districts previously affected by the 2024 DANA are suspended from 14:00, though dining services will remain operational until 15:00. Local emergency services, including firefighters, local police, and civil protection, have been mobilized to monitor weather developments.
