Valencia City Council approves 1.36 billion euro municipal budget

The Valencia City Council has granted initial approval to its 2027 municipal budget, totaling 1.361 billion euros. The project, which represents an 8.8 percent increase over the current year, was supported by the governing coalition of PP and Vox.

Opposition groups, including Compromís and PSPV-PSOE, voted against the measure. Critics from Compromís characterized the budget as a collection of pending announcements, noting that much of the increase stems from state transfers and financial operations. They also raised concerns regarding the execution of previous investments, specifically in housing.

The consolidated budget, which includes autonomous bodies and municipal public companies, reaches 1.580 billion euros, marking an 11.7 percent increase compared to the current budget. The final approval remains subject to a 15-day public exhibition period for claims.
