Valencia approves tourist apartment conversion in Benicalap

The Valencia City Council has confirmed that the conversion of commercial ground floors into tourist apartments in the Benicalap neighborhood is proceeding legally. The developer modified the project to comply with current municipal regulations, specifically by reducing the amount of tertiary surface area that had previously prevented authorization.

Urban Planning Councilor Juan Giner defended the project, noting that municipal technicians have been monitoring the works. While the political coalition Compromís per València has denounced the works as allegedly illegal, the City Council stated that the Legal Advisory department is conducting inspections to ensure the construction on Carlos Cortina Street aligns with the granted license. A specific report has been requested to verify if the works on Encarna Albarracín Street strictly adhere to the authorized project.
