Valencia Basket loses Costello to Japan, Key signs with Fenerbahçe
American forward Matt Costello, who spent two seasons with Spain's Valencia Basket and helped the club win the Liga Endesa and the Supercopa, did not reach a new contract and will join the Chiba Jets of Japan's B.League. During his last season he averaged 6.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and shot 34.4% from three‑point range.
Former Valencia guard Braxton Key, a Spanish league champion, has been signed by Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe to replace Finnish forward Mikaël Jantunen, whose contract was terminated early. Key joins a roster that also includes Trent Forrest and Shavon Shields as Fenerbahçe prepares for the upcoming season.
