Valencia Basket signs Jasiel Rivero and Barcelona completes roster
Valencia Basket has announced the signing of Cuban power forward Jasiel Rivero on a one-month contract. Rivero, a former player for the club between 2021 and 2023, returns to bolster the front line during the preseason and the start of the official season while several key players are away on national team duties.
Rivero previously played for Red Star Belgrade and Maccabi Tel Aviv. During his first stint with Valencia, he averaged 10.8 points and 4 rebounds per game and was named Liga Endesa Player of the Month twice in 2022. His temporary contract may be extended depending on team needs.
In other Spanish basketball news, FC Barcelona has completed its roster reconstruction with the signing of Dominican-American forward Justin Minaya. Minaya, 27, joins from the G League on a two-season deal, marking the eleventh reinforcement for the club this summer.
