Valencia CF begins Javier Aguirre era with match against Racing

Valencia CF is set to begin a new era under manager Javier Aguirre this Sunday in an away match against Racing de Santander at El Sardinero. Currently sitting in penultimate position with four points, Valencia is seeking an urgent victory to improve their standing in La Liga.

Tactically, the team is expected to see shifts in personnel. Midfielder Pepelu is anticipated to return to his original central midfield role, a position where he previously earned a national team call-up. Additionally, defenders Mouctar Diakhaby and César Tárrega are expected to return to the squad, potentially bolstering the backline alongside Justin de Haas.

Aguirre brings 15 seasons of experience coaching in Spain, having previously managed clubs such as Osasuna, Atlético Madrid, and Mallorca. Valencia captain José Luis Gayá expressed confidence in the new manager, noting that Aguirre’s deep knowledge of the Spanish competition is a vital asset for the club's current situation.
