Valencia CF faces worst home scoring start since 1969
Valencia CF is facing a significant offensive drought at Mestalla, matching their worst scoring start at home in 56 years. The club has scored only two goals in its first five home matches of the season, a statistic not seen since the 1969-1970 campaign.
Following a scoreless draw against Athletic Club, manager Javier Aguirre faced criticism from supporters regarding the team's lack of attacking options. During the match, Aguirre engaged in a verbal exchange with a fan who demanded more forwards be brought on, to which the manager responded, “¡No hay, no hay!” (There aren't any, there aren't any!).
Under Aguirre's leadership, the team remains in the relegation zone. The manager defended his tactical decisions, including the choice not to use certain youth players, stating that while newcomers help, he cannot throw young players to the lions when the team is performing poorly.
