Valencia CF readies Trofeu Taronja clash with Newcastle United

Valencia CF will host Newcastle United in the 54th edition of the Trofeu Taronja on Saturday, 8 August 2026, at Mestalla. The friendly serves as the final pre‑season test before the start of LaLiga and includes a range of community‑focused activities.

Metrovalencia will operate a special night‑time service on the metro and tram lines, with increased frequencies and extended hours to help fans travel to and from the stadium. The club also performed a traditional floral offering to the Virgen de los Desamparados at the basilica, led by chaplain Álvaro Almenar.

In partnership with sponsor Cervezas Turia, Valencia CF will donate the match shirts—featuring a special fire‑relief patch—to hospitality businesses in the Valencian Community that were hit by recent forest fires. Mayors from the 18 affected municipalities will be invited to the event as a sign of solidarity.

The match will be played with Valencia’s alternate kit inspired by the Mediterranean coast, and the trophy will be presented by club legend Vicente Guillot after the game.
