Valencia CF prepares for final Mestalla season as new stadium construction advances

Valencia CF has confirmed that the 2026-27 season will be the final one played at the historic Mestalla stadium before the club moves to its new home. Since its inauguration in 1923, the venue has served as a central landmark in Valencia, hosting major events including the 1982 World Cup and the 1992 Olympic football tournament.

Construction of the new Nou Mestalla stadium has reached a critical milestone with the start of the 'Big Lift' operation. This engineering phase involves the synchronized lifting of the main roof structure using hydraulic jacks. The process includes the coordinated elevation and connection of radial cables, connectors, and structural components to the stadium's compression ring. Following this stage, work will proceed to the installation of secondary structures, technical walkways, and the exterior membrane.
