Valencia City Council launches public consultation on citizen services
The Valencia City Council has launched a public consultation process ahead of drafting a new Citizen Service Ordinance. This regulation aims to establish the standards and channels for informing, listening to, and assisting the public.
The consultation seeks input from individuals, legal entities, and various organizations—including neighborhood and professional associations—to identify current communication barriers with local administration. The proposed ordinance will cover several areas, including in-person, telephone, and digital assistance, as well as registration services, appointment scheduling, and methods for reporting public incidents or submitting complaints and suggestions.
A key focus of the initiative is to address technological, accessibility, and comprehension barriers. The council intends to pay particular attention to the needs of elderly citizens, people with disabilities, and those affected by the digital divide, while also ensuring linguistic respect and clarity of information.
