Consell approves urgent land occupation for CV-679 road improvements

The Consell has approved an urgent declaration of occupation for land required to improve the CV-679 road between Almoines and l'Alqueria de la Comtessa. This measure aims to expedite the execution of works on a 2.4-kilometer stretch of the highway.

The project involves the coordination of the Generalitat and the Diputación de Valencia to address strategic infrastructure needs in the La Safor region. The expropriation affects approximately 48,066 square meters of land across the municipalities of Almoines, Beniarjó, Rafelcofer, and l'Alqueria de la Comtessa.

The decision is primarily driven by road safety concerns. Previous reports from 2016 to 2018 identified the section between kilometer 0 and 1.4 as an accident-prone area. The planned improvements include widening the road platform, adjusting the layout to fix tight curves and insufficient sections, and reinforcing the structural surface. Additionally, a new bypass for Rafelcofer will be constructed to reduce heavy vehicle traffic through urban areas.
