Valencia cultural events announce 2026 festival poster and 2027 IVAM program
The Mostra Viva del Mediterrani has unveiled its 2026 poster, designed by artist Amparo Carbonell, ahead of its upcoming festival in Valencia scheduled from October 27 to November 6. The event will feature the Pont del Mediterrani Awards, which recognize cultural talent across various disciplines. The 2026 laureates include Teresa Cebrián in Audiovisual, Susana Fortes in Literature, Jan Maria Carlotti in Music, and Zaphira Yacef in Solidarity.
The festival will host a gathering of Mediterranean writers, including Petros Márkaris, Azahara Palomeque, Manuel Aznar, and Anna Pacheco. Vicent Garcés, president of the Mostra Viva Association, stated the event aims to build bridges between the cultures, languages, and diversity of Mediterranean peoples.
Separately, the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) has presented its 2027 exhibition program. Director Blanca de la Torre described the institution as an ‘amphibious museum,’ a concept intended to represent a space permeable to the environment that facilitates a dialogue between human and non-human life forms. The program seeks to move away from dystopian narratives to foster resilience and new ways of inhabiting the world.
