Valencia cultural venues roll out free summer night events
Espai LaGranja, the Institute of Valencian Culture’s centre for movement arts, is running a July programme that offers free rehearsal spaces, daily technique training, and workshops linking choreography to internationalisation, memory, health and social issues. Notable activities include a project‑development workshop for international grants, a lab on bodily memory, and community‑health initiatives that use dance to support people with chronic conditions and explore housing‑crisis impacts.
The Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) will host its “Gran Nit de Juliol” on 18 July, extending opening hours to midnight and admitting the public for free from 19:00. The night features live music by Hits With Tits and Demeter’s Project, family‑friendly workshops, and a series of exhibitions—including “L’Albufera”, a retrospective of the IVAM collection and shows by artists such as Joan Miró, Andy Warhol and others—scheduled throughout the evening.
