Valencia exhibition and Catalonia book highlight medieval Spanish heritage

The Centre Cultural La Nau in Valencia is hosting a free exhibition titled "La memòria de Jaume I. Edicions i traduccions del Llibre dels fets" until the end of September 2026. The display brings together, for the first time, all known editions, translations and adaptations of the 13th‑century autobiography of King James I, a cornerstone of Valencian literary and historical heritage, and marks the 750th anniversary of the king’s death. Curated by scholars Vicent Josep Escartí, Antoni Ferrando and Mateu Rodrigo, it also features the latest Spanish translation by Julia Butiñá based on the critical edition published by the Universitat de València.

Separately, the historical monograph "600 anys d’història de Can Figueres dels Barrancs (1395‑2025)" by Jaume Vendrell Estruch will be presented on 30 July at L'Escorxador in the Penedès region. The 672‑page work reconstructs over six centuries of family and rural life in Catalonia through archival research, photographs and documents, shedding light on the social and economic structures of the Can Figueres estate and the surrounding countryside.
