Spain cultural institutions announce diverse 2026 autumn and winter programming

Various cultural institutions across Spain are launching new seasonal programs for autumn and winter 2026. In Valencia, the Teatre Principal is undergoing urgent structural reforms to ensure safety and modernization. Simultaneously, the València Music City initiative is expanding its reach to neighborhoods and educational centers, supported by a 200,000 euro fund for musical projects. The Teatre Principal and Teatre Rialto are also presenting diverse programming including works by Sartre and Chekhov.

Other regional updates include the Teatro Municipal Álvarez Quintero in Osuna presenting 17 shows, and Arganda del Rey launching a season featuring prominent performers like Carlos Sobera. In Salamanca, the city has concluded its summer festivities with the removal of the Mariseca, while the University of Salamanca is hosting a welcome fair for new students in Béjar. Additionally, the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville has announced its lyrical season under the theme ‘Amor en vivo’, featuring international productions of ‘Roméo et Juliette’ and ‘La bohème’.

In Teruel, the Valdealgorfa Short Film Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and in Alicante, the ADDA is kicking off its symphonic season with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra performing Mahler’s Third Symphony.
