Valencia expands cycling network to over 54 kilometers

Valencia has expanded its cycling network to over 54 kilometers following the completion of two new bike lane sections in the La Carrasca and Camí Real neighborhoods. These projects, funded through the 2025-2026 participatory budgets, include the signaling of Calle Serpis in the Algirós district and a path in Plaza Jardín de Wangari Maathai in the Jesús district.

The new infrastructure adds a total of 3,462 meters to the city's network. The Calle Serpis section spans 2,365 meters between Ramón Llull and José María Haro, specifically designed to improve connectivity for students and commuters near the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Universitat de València (Tarongers campus).

Mobility Councilor Jesús Carbonell stated that the goal of these lanes is to pacify traffic and reduce motorized vehicle speeds to create a safer environment for all users. The initiative also aims to prioritize active mobility and promote environmentally friendly transportation methods.
