Valencia expands sports initiatives through UPV and city programs

The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is expanding its inclusive sports initiatives for the 2026-2027 season. The UPV IN project is launching a new multi-sport school on Saturdays specifically for young wheelchair users, allowing them to explore various disciplines before specializing. The program is also adding beach volleyball for individuals with intellectual disabilities to its existing offerings, which include basketball, wheelchair tennis, and padel.

Additionally, the UPV is strengthening its eSports program through its Sports Area. The initiative provides the university community with structured competition and social spaces for games such as League of Legends, F1, FC 26, and Rocket League, aiming to integrate digital culture into university life.

In the city of Valencia, the European Week of Sport will take place from September 23 to 30. Organized by the Valencia City Council and the Municipal Sports Foundation (FDM) under the slogan ‘#BeActive your way’, the event features free activities, open days at municipal facilities, and sessions in public spaces and beaches to promote physical activity across all ages.
