Valencia housing market shows rising preference for ownership despite budget gaps
A report by Sigma Dos for Culmia indicates a growing preference for home ownership in Valencia, Spain. According to the third edition of the ‘Viaje del comprador de vivienda’ report, 82.2% of residents view buying a home as the best option for their future, a significant increase from 70.8% in 2023.
However, a gap exists between buyer budgets and market availability. Three out of four prospective buyers in Valencia have a budget below 200,000 euros. Specifically, 48.8% plan to spend between 100,000 and 200,000 euros, while 26% have less than 100,000 euros available. Only 25.2% of buyers are considering prices exceeding 200,000 euros.
This economic reality has led 63% of residents to believe that current market offerings do not meet their financial expectations. Cristina Ontoso, Commercial and Marketing Director at Culmia, noted that while there is a clear desire to access housing, the challenge lies in expanding the residential park within the most demanded price ranges.
