Valencia implements new exclusive bus and taxi lane on Jaume Roig
Valencia has implemented a new exclusive lane for EMT buses and taxis on Jaume Roig street in the Pla del Real district. The measure covers more than 500 meters between Blasco Ibáñez and Primat Reig avenues, utilizing reflective bollards to separate public transport from general traffic.
The initiative specifically aims to benefit EMT Valencia lines 12 and 70 by reducing delays caused by congestion. To address traffic issues near the German School, two ‘kiss & go’ short-term parking zones have been established on Álvaro de Bazán and Batxiller streets, operating during school drop-off and pick-up hours.
According to the EMT 2025-2030 Master Plan, urban buses lose nearly 30% of travel time due to traffic congestion. Mobility Councilor Jesús Carbonell stated that segregating public transport is essential to increasing commercial speed and improving punctuality.
