Valencia Mayor prioritizes sailing and athletics over Formula 1

Valencia Mayor María José Catalá has expressed a preference for investing in sailing and athletics over a potential return of Formula 1 to the city. Catalá stated that these sports align more closely with local traditions and require less public investment.

She noted that the city's current sporting model focuses on events such as the Sail GP and the European Indoor Athletics Championships. Additionally, the Mayor indicated that Valencia remains open to the possibility of hosting the Copa América in the future, emphasizing the city's historical connection to nautical sports.
