Valencia Music City receives Premio Avant for traditional music promotion

Valencia Music City, the musical strategy promoted by the Valencia City Council, has been awarded the Premio Avant by the Associació d’Estudis del Cant Valencià. This marks the third time the initiative has received this distinction.

The award recognizes the strategy's efforts in promoting, managing, and revitalizing the city's musical activity, with a specific emphasis on folklore, traditional music, and the preservation of Valencian musical heritage. The municipal strategy aims to integrate traditional musical roots into contemporary cultural activities to ensure their conservation and transmission to new audiences.

Juan Pablo Valero, Director General of Valencia Music City, accepted the award from Manolo Marzal, president of the association, during a ceremony held at the Centre Cultural La Beneficència. The event featured traditional musical expressions, including the 'cant d’estil'.
