Valencia offers free summer workshops and beach sports for families

The Valencia city council has launched a series of free summer programs aimed at families and residents. The "Estiu DiverActiu" initiative, organized by the Office of Energy and the Climate Change Observatory, runs from June to September at locations such as Parc de l’Oest, Torrefiel, Aiora and the Observatory itself. It provides educational workshops on climate change, energy‑saving escape rooms, a solar‑eclipse glasses giveaway and hands‑on activities like recycling games and fan‑making, all designed to teach sustainable habits through play.

In parallel, the municipality is hosting free beach‑based sports activities throughout the summer. From March to December 2026, Valencia's beaches will host daily yoga, pilates, tai‑chi, volleyball, beach football and a range of water sports including surfing, windsurfing, paddle‑boarding and catamaran sailing. The programmes are open to all ages, require no prior skill or equipment, and are offered at venues such as Malvarrosa and El Cabanyal with free registration where needed.
