Valencia police arrest man for domestic assault and unlawful detention

The Valencia Local Police arrested a man in the early hours of Wednesday following an incident of domestic violence where he allegedly assaulted and detained his partner inside their residence. The intervention was prompted by distress messages sent by the victim to a friend, pleading for police assistance and stating she was being held against her will by an aggressive individual.

Two police patrols, including the GAMA unit specialized in gender-based violence, responded to the call at approximately 02:45. Upon arriving at the location, officers encountered resistance from the suspect, who attempted to prevent them from entering. When officers entered the premises to ensure the victim's safety, the man physically assaulted them. Four officers sustained minor injuries during the struggle to subdue and neutralize the suspect. The individual has been placed at the disposal of the judiciary for suspected domestic abuse.
