Valencia presents semiconductor roadmap at VDS 2026

During the VDS 2026 technology summit in Valencia, regional authorities presented a new semiconductor roadmap designed to strengthen the Valencian Community's role in the European chip industry. The initiative includes technical contributions to the European Chips Act 2.0, aiming to bolster industrial and technological capabilities while reducing critical industrial dependencies.

The roadmap focuses on coordinating efforts between companies, universities, research centers, and institutions. Key pillars of the strategy include specialized talent training, research, technology transfer, industrial development, and public-private collaboration to integrate the region more deeply into European value chains.

Organized by Startup Valencia, the ninth edition of the event has gathered over 12,000 professionals from more than 120 countries, including 3,000 startups and 1,500 corporations. Discussions at the summit have also addressed advancements in artificial intelligence, defense, space, energy, and health.
